About the Role
We are looking for a curious, multitalented data engineer to:
- Design, build, test, and document work on scalable data flows/pipelines and data models
- Set standards and implement processes to ensure data quality and accessibility
- Build out new data/API integrations to support continuous changes in data volume and complexity
- Collaborate with stakeholders including data/analytics, design, product, tech and business teams and assisting them with data-related technical issues
Aside from the main responsibilities above, you will also:
- Prepare both structured and unstructured raw data for data science and analytics; improve data models that feed business intelligence tools
- Perform data analysis required to troubleshoot data issues
- Evaluate vendors and tools (open source or otherwise) to improve our data infrastructure
- Stay up-to-date on industry standards, best practices, and advancements
- Works closely with all business and engineering teams to develop strategy for long term data platform architecture

- You love getting things right the first time more than experimentation & iteration
Must-have:
- Previous work experience in data engineering (3-5 years)
- Proficiency in data cleaning, transformation, processing, & storage (ETL/ELT)
- Experience with data warehouses and data lakes; expertise in relational and non-relational databases, SQL; cloud services (preferably AWS / GCP )
- Solid software engineering fundamentals (Python, APIs/microservices, automated tests, ) and proven ability to collaborate within a team
- Great attention to detail and problem-solving skills, excellent oral and written communication skills to collaborate with and communicate plans to internal stakeholders
Nice-to-have:
- Proficiency in business intelligence/dashboarding tools
- Previous experience with data architecture design patterns, data modeling
- Experience with big data tools and processing, workflow management and pipeline tools
